New Xbox dashboard will auto-Tweet when you unlock Achievements
Microsoft has lifted the lid on more details surrounding its next Xbox 360 dashboard update, revealing that the revamped interface will automatically tweet or update the user's Facebook status whenever they unlock an Achievement.
The feature sounds similar to Uncharted 2's infamous Twitter integration, a function which automatically posted updates to the user's Twitter account whenever they reached a certain point in the game.
The feature was later disabled by Naughty Dog following a furore from the community.
Microsoft says, however, that there will be an option to disable the feature from the dashboard, or failing that, "you can ignore your friends on Facebook". Quite.
If you're hoping for YouTube support on your Xbox, though, you might be out of luck.
"YouTube is kinda crazy with the amount of titles people can name and just throw up there," said Xbox Live Entertainment's Senior Product Manager Terry Farrell speaking to Joystiq. "We can't guarantee we'll have all of that stuff day one, but we'll be continually evolving the Dashboard on the back end to get it there.
"For us, right now, the goal is to focus on more of that long-form content: music, movies, games and TV shows. Lower down on the list is something like YouTube."
The new Xbox 360 dashboard is due to be rolled out this 'holiday', with a beta reported to be coming next month.
