During the 2009 Video Game Awards on Spike, Rocksteady and WB Games premiered a teaser for the sequel to their Game of the Year winner Batman: Arkham Asylum leaving hints to various villains that will appear in the game. Now with the weekend gone and two voice actors jumping the gun on revealing themselves, we can add two more to that list. The first of which is Maurice Lamarche as Mr. Freeze, best known for his work on Futurama and various animated TV shows.
In an interview on the Geekcastradio podcast, actor Maurice LaMarche said, "Video games is hard work, I’ll say that. I’ve only done a handful, and I’m very lucky right now, I’m about to go in and do Mr. Freeze for Arkham Asylum 2." And when asked to give a taste of what Mr. Freeze will sound like, he claimed, “To tell you the truth, I think, contractually, I can’t. I’ve got to keep it under wraps." As for Mr. Freeze's role in the game, LaMarche stated, "He’s out for blood right now because, err... I can’t tell you the situation, but he’s actually somewhat a sympathetic character within the framework of the game."
Stana Katic Tweet for TaliaLaMarche wasn't the only actor spilling the beans on their role in the game. ABC's Castle star Stana Katic posted on her Twitter, "Just recorded a character voice on the next Batman video game. Never did that before. Helpful hint: plenty of water and pineapple slices," and followed that up with an additional status message saying "For those who were asking: I’m voicing Talia al Ghul, the daughter of Ra al Ghul (played by Liam Neeson in “Batman Begins”).” Not long after the two tweets were up, she quickly deleted them. It's too bad Stana, Google had already indexed it and everyone got a screenshot. Oops.
So there you have it, we can add Talia al Ghul (Stana Katic) and Mr. Freeze (Maurice LaMarche) to the list of villains to appear in the sequel to Batman: Arkham Asylum 2.

»Mit Two-Face, aber viel düsterer«
Der Schauspieler und Synchronsprecher Kevin Conroy hat neue Informationen zum Nachfolgespiel von Batman: Arkham Asylum preisgegeben. In einer Podiumsdiskussion auf der Chicago Comics & Entertainment Expo sagte er, dass das nächste Batman-Abenteuer von den Rocksteady Studios » sehr, sehr düster« werden wird. Conroy, der Batman selbst spricht, vergleicht die Story von der Grundstimmung her mit dem Zeichentrick-Abenteuer Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker. Das beginnt zwar für die Serie typisch als kunterbunt-unbeschwerter Familienspaß, driftet aber schon bald in erschreckende Geheimnisse aus Batmans Vergangenheit ab.
In Arkham Asylum 2 – so der bisherige Arbeitstitel des Spiels – soll außerdem der Superschurke Two-Face mitmischen. Das hatte ein Fan Conroy mit einer geschickt gestellten Frage entlockt. Zugegeben, wirklich überraschend ist diese Tatsache jedoch nicht. Bereits ein erster Trailer des Spiels deutet mit einem Poster auf ein Treffen mit Harvey Dents gestörtem Alter-Ego hin. Wie Conroy weiter erläutert, soll es außerdem noch viele weitere Superschurken im Spiel geben. Besagter Trailer liefert Comic-Fans bereits Hinweise auf den Pinguin, Catwoman, den Joker, Harley Quinn und Black Mask.

Conroy plaudert außerdem noch etwas aus dem Synchronsprecher-Nähkästchen. So war sein Kollege Mark Hamill ursprünglich nur die zweite Wahl als Joker-Sprecher. Zunächst hatten die Produzenten der Serie Batman: The Animated Series den Rocky Horror Picture Show-Star Tim Curry (zuletzt im Videospiel C&C: Alarmstufe Rot 3 zu sehen) als Joker besetzen wollen, fanden seine Darstellung aber zu »angsteinflössend«. Um die Zuschauer nicht zu irritieren, bekam Hamil den Job. Conroy findet Christian Bales tiefe Stimme in den aktuellen Kinofilmen Batman Begins und The Dark Knight übrigens »lächerlich«. Das sei jedoch nicht Bales Schuld, Conroys Meinung nach wurde der Schauspieler dabei falsch instruiert und bisher nicht darauf hingewiesen worden.
Arkham Asylum 2 soll für PC, Xbox 360 und PlayStation 3 noch 2010 erscheinen. Ein genaues Datum haben bisher weder der Publisher Warner Bros. noch der Entwickler Rocksteady Studios genannt.

hmm naja. würd ehrlich gesagt lieber batman in nem batman spiel steuernGibt ja Gerüchte bzw. Meldungen, dass Robin mit im Spiel sein wird. Fände ich sehr cool, vor allem wenn man ihn selbst spielen kann, oder sogar in Koop Batman und Robin spielen kann.

Bei Linearen Spielen wie Gears Of War usw. ist dies möglich, aber B:AA ist einfach nicht das Spiel für einen Koop.

Robin kann das einfach nicht. Nicht jedes game muss entweder open world sein oder einen coop haben und bei Batman ist dieses Arkham Open World cool und Coop muss nicht sein und wenn dann bitte mit einem anderen DC Charakter wie Flash aber nicht Robin

Ist sein Partner und ich assoziiere ihn sofort mit Batman. Ich finde es super, dass er anscheinend im neuen Teil vorkommt. Was hat Flash viel mit Batman zu tun? Die waren nur paar mal zusammen zusehen, mehr auch nicht.
