*** Online Match ***
Reporter (R): In WE9, what's the change with the Online battles?
Maker (M): In the online battles, every half, there will be a switch between home and away
R: Oh! cause in previous editions home advantage was set to one player, so it will switch at half time?
M: Yes! This will make the battles more fair. Other than that, The ONLINE mode has a big change, the players won't feel the slow lag. And in the online battles, you can use your own Master League team.
R: So the own Master League team (with editions) can be played online?
M: Yes! In WE8:LE, Online mode wasn't able for ML teams, from now own, we hope to unite Master League and Online Mode better
R: Well, what other changes are there in the Online Mode?
M: When the ball goes out of bounds, or when there is a goal, the player will see a message, but the message must be entered before the match.
R: Can multi-player play all at once?
M: It's possible. Using the same PS2, 2 players can co-operate and play with online friends (2 vs 2)
R: Is it possible to contact the other player/friends at home (online) or with other placed players play 2 vs 2?
M: It is not sure yet, but we hope that it can be tested and tried
*** Crossing's Intensity Increased ***
R: Is there a change in the controls?
M: Other than not needing to use R2 for Side Step, other controls are basically the same. The game itself had a big change. We always hoped for the ball's landing point (in crosses) can be more precise, more accurate. Even though that makes the passer look a little dull (dumb?), but it will make the ball's landing area be more precise, and that can make a better pass (cross). This makes the crossings have more evolution (changes, each look different). For example, if the player's power rating is low, then the player must effective and fast. The player can more freely control the player's movement making it more free and mroe intense. (basically, u have to move the players with low power ratings to the receiving point for better headers)
R: Seems interesting! When the player crosses the ball, the player won't be like the old editions automatically head the ball
M: THe defensive keys (against crosses) have changed a little. In the previous editions just pressing square and the player closest to the landing point will automatically clear the ball. But in WE9, the player have to automatically move to the position to clear the ball!
R: Ah...so it's harder to defend against crosses now!
M: Yes, it will be very intense!!!
*** Shooting Actions increased ***
R: In the WE series, dribbling and foot movement is what attracts lots of people to watch, It is what can make the actual player's beautiful movements replayed again into the game. The team must spent alot of time to do all these action.
M: That's of course! We used Motion Capture to copy somee of the smallest actions. First in this episode, we increased the physical contacts. For example, if both bodies collide and one person will fall down and such. Actually, making these actions had alot of difficulty, it's the normal kick's 2 to 3 times the amount. Some makers joked that why don't we just make 3 different type of shots instead? (laugh)
R: Well then, the shooting action has increased alot right?
M: In this episode, it will be greatly dependant on the controls (for kicking the ball). For example, in the passes, from pressing of the button to the actual kicking is only 1/5 seconds, as long as the player has control over the ball and quickly pass it out. This episode increased it's controls over these type of areas
R: In my memory, the shooting has changed alot.
M: This time, the shooting will frequently have balls flying just over the crossbar. In real life, it happens alot too!!! So in this episode, we included the R2 control of shooting. If u press R2 and increase the power of shot, no matter in what distance, it will decrease the ball height drastically. But of course if for power 99 players, it might still go over the crossbar
*** New Talent Power, Middle Shoot ***
R: In this episode, there's a new spcial ability Middle Shoot!
M: Yes! Players can shoot powerful shots that don't curve. Of course players without that special ability can still shoot Middle shoot, but the ability will only be 40-50% of the normal shot. And the players with this ability (depending on the circumstances) it can reach to 80-90%!!! There's also Dash Dribble and this ability can alow players can shoot non-curved shot. With about 40% of the power.
R: These type of shots will let the ball dip downwards? (right before the goal?)
M: YEs!
R: So all mid-ranged shots will be very horrible!
M: Even though there's this ability, but the defender just pressure the player more, it won't be easy for him to shoot the powerful non-curved shot. so defenders must take more care of that area!
R: Anything else to say?
M: Actually these aren't really new points, but players with this special ability, their middle shots can shoot wide with time (dunno what this means, maybe u have to grasp when to use it more precisly?)
