Epic Boss: Next Gears of War will have Natal Support

Mark Rein is the head honcho of Epic Games, so when the man speaks people listen. The studio is home to titles like the Gears of War franchise and Unreal Tournament, two of the biggest names in the industry. According to Mark, even those titles will have Natal functionality, Speaking to XOM, mark said:

We're just sitting down with [Natal] in the next two weeks, I think, to bring our studio guys in to have a look," Rein said.

On Gears of War, his answer was rather intriguing:

"I have no idea where we're going from a game standpoint, but from an engine standpoint, it's definitely cool stuff and we will support it. I think any future Xbox games we make will have some Natal support," he said. "We always want to have something that exploits the unique capabilities of a platform."

"I think everyone will do something that exploits Natal once it's out there and everyone has," Rein voiced. "So will people be able to benefit from it? Yes. And then if they want to make that 'oh my god' really cool Natal experience, well, we've got the engine for that. I'm pretty psyched about it."

Rumour: Gears of War 3 to premiere at VGA's

It is believed that Gears of War 3 is currently in development. You would have heard those rumours several months ago, but could the game be unveiled at the 2009 Video Game Awards?

Spike TV host Geoff Keighley recently sent a tweet to the Gears of War design director Cliff 'CliffyB' Bleszinski saying;

"You ready for the big show on Saturday night? Can't wait to see you!"

The 2009 VGA's still have a few unannounced titles that will be announced at the awards ceremony, and Keighley has been teasing us all saying that the line-up will blow us away. Gears of War 3 would definitely blow us all away I'm sure. Let's hope it happens.

It may not be Gear 3 however, EA Games are set to publish a new IP from the North Carolina based developers. So they could be unveiling that project for the first time.

The 2009 Video Game Awards take place on December 12, and unfortunately will not be shown via live online stream. We'll bring you all the latest VGA updates.

This is strictly rumour, so don't get carried away guys. All we can do is hope for the best, and maybe Gears 3 will turn up, somewhere.

Da bin ich ja mal gespannt.Beim guten Cliff B. ist ja bekanntlich alles immer bigger,better and more badass als alles dagewesene vorher. Jetzt nach COD6 müssen die aber schon richtig was auf die Beine stellen um da genauso einen Strassenfeger raus zubringen wie die Jungs von iw.Da nützen diesmal auch keine drei neuen Waffen oder zwei neue Hinrichtungen was,da muss schon richtig was kommen.

Da muss ich dir Recht geben Gears 2 ist MW 2 haushoch überlgen Grafisch sowieso auch die inzenierung ist um längen besser als bei CoD 6 und die Story natürlich auch wenn Epic in Gears 3 den Multiplayer Verbessert also dezinierte server einbaut dann wird Gears 3 alles wegrocken da bin ich mir 100% sicher =)

Modern Warfare 2 ist die Enttäuschung des Jahres. Grafik ist Top, die Inszenierung fand ich einfach nur viel schlechter als gegenüber MW1. Eigentlich sieht man an MW2 die Arbeitsleistung von IW: Wir brauchen nix zu machen, es gibts genug Leute die sich das Spiel kaufen.
Gears Of War 2 ist für mich immer noch das Highlight: Grafik finde ich besser als MW2, Inszenierung finde ich auch geiler und auch die Story ist viel interessanter. Darum muss GoW3 nur das Niveau von Teil 2 erreichen kann, wird es rocken.

Na siehst du und das ist dann schon wieder unter der Rubrik "Geschmackssache" zu stellen.Für mich ist und war COD6 der beste Shooter auf der 360 seit Ewigkeiten.Allein die Intensität des Single Player ist schon das spielen wert.Auch der MP suchst seines Gleichen,nicht umsonst spielt zur Zeit die halbe Community nur COD6.GOW ist nach wie vor für mich eines der besten Spiele auf der 360 allerdings GOW mit COD zu vergleichen ,ist auch ein wenig wie Äpfel mit Birnen. Wenn GOW3 sich zu GOW2 nur in der Story unterscheiden würde und sonst alles beim Alten bleibt dann würde epic sich ja genauso auf seinen Lorbeeren ausruhen wie du es iw unterstellst.

Cliff macht neue Andeutung: ''Geiler Scheiß''

Aufgrund der ziemlich erfolgreichen Verkaufszahlen von Gears of War 2 dürfte ein dritter Teil längst bestätigt sein. Einizig und alleine die offizielle Ankündigung seitens EPIC Games fehlt noch.

Bereits im Abspann bei Gears of War 2 wird auf einen dritten Teil der Locus-Schnetzelei hingewiesen. Cliff Bleszinski, Vater der Gears of War-Reihe, äußerte sich nun im Interview mit Joystiq.com darüber, dass er zur Zeit an einem neuen Spiel werkelt. Er selbst bezeichnet das Project als ''geilen Scheiß''. Er möchte aber unbedingt vermeiden, dass nur irgendeine Kleinigkeit oder Information des Projekt an die Öffentlichkeit geriet. Er wird ebenfalls nichts verraten - ''egal mit wie vielen alkoholischen Getränken ihr versucht mich abzufüllen!''.

Eine erste Informationswelle soll es geben - ''wenn das Wetter wärmer wird''. Dies könnte bereits im Juni 2010 sein. Dann nähmlich findet in Los Angeles die E3 2010 statt. Wir sind gespannt und wir halten euch natürlich auf dem Laufenden!

Epic Games President: “No Unreal, Working on Gears”, E3 to be “Really Exciting for Epic Fans”

Epic Games President Mike Capps recently spoke with VentureBeat’s Dean Takahashi in a video interview at the Interactive Achievement Awards on building blockbuster franchises, and he made some rather interesting comments on Unreal, the Gears of War movie and a possible new game coming at E3.

“We’re not working on an Unreal game right now because we’re working on the Gears franchise… We’ve been working on that [Gears of War] longer than I liked, and I can’t wait to see something. We’ve got hopefully some news to share soon. My mom will appreciate what I get to do when she watches the movie.”

On being asked if they a have new game in development, Capps responds,

“We might have a new one coming, and I think E3 is going to be really exciting for fans of Epic.”

Could it be the fabled Gears of War 3 announcement fans have been anticipating? Or will rumours finally be proved about that survival horror Cliffy B’s been denying? Sadly there’s no new Unreal coming up but that should be overshadowed by more news of Unreal Engine 4 as E3 2010 draws closer.

Alter Schwede wenn diese Technik bei Gears 3 verwendet wird ,und Epic wird diese Technik perfekt umsetzen können dann wird Gears 3 in sachen Technik mal wieder die Referenz aufem Markt=)

Ich freu mich auf die E3 die wird Klarheit bringen =)

Die Technik hört sich vielversprechend an, die Bilder und das Video hauen mich aber noch nicht vom Hocker. Ich denke, da müssen noch ein paar Jahre ins Land ziehen, bis die Grafik zeitgemäß ist
