WORLD EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW
We managed to catch up with the mind behind the franchise to get some
more information about Grand Theft Auto V, Dan Houser, with some
surprising information that is bound to get the blogosphere buzzing again.
We caught up with Mr. Houser in a cafe in New York, fresh from
overseeing some work on a new mansion he recently aquired to ask him
some questions about what we already know and what we are likely
to expect.
Us: Good afternoon, Mr. Houser. It's a pleasure to meet you.
Dan Houser: You're welcome, please call me Dan.
Us: OK then, good afternoon, Dan. It's a pleasure to meet you.
DH: (laughs) You'll have to excuse the mess I'm in, we've got workers in
to do some work on the house.
Us: Yes, I heard that you recently bought the Capote house, has it been
damaged already?
DH: (laughs) No, it's just a little remedial work, the place was immaculate
when we purchased it. I only stopped by to check on it as I've been in
another production meeting this morning.
Us: So was there a spinning icon outside with a price tag above it that
meant you just had to buy it?
DH: Erm, no.
Us: I understand that we don't have that long as you've got another
production meeting to get back to?
DH: There always is.
Us: Has the attention at Rockstar now swung back to Grand Theft Auto V
now that Max Payne 3 is now upon us?
DH: There was always the attention paid to Grand Theft Auto V, as most
of it has been done in Edinburgh (Rockstar North, Rockstar's UK
division), so they've been quietly plugging away getting the [***CUT OFF1***]
developed behind the scenes, while here in New York and [***CUT OFF2***]
we had been busy getting Max Payne 3 finished off.
Us: So now that Max Payne 3 has been released, and you'[***CUT OFF3***]
Grand Theft Auto V now, does that mean we are going to [***CUT OFF4***]
announcement soon about it's [sic] release date?
DH: (smiles) No comment.
Us: I see, so it's not any time soon...
DH: Well it wouldn't be fair on the people who have been [***CUT OFF5***]
Max Payne 3 for them to have their hard work brushed [***CUT OFF6***]

Whilst the release of the trailer for Grand Theft Auto V wasn't ???
with the same fervor, as it was wildly anticipated that the graphics
would be equally a step forward as Grand Theft Auto: Vice City was
to Grand Theft Auto III, the location however was the missing piece of
the jigsaw when it came to the release of the new trailer and the
answer it would hopefully reveal to the world. However since the
trailer was released in the November of 2011, the gaming world ???
??? up with anticipation and theories about the trailer and its contents
and its host city of Los Santos, and if that would be [the] only city featured.

Us: So are we to expect any information about Grand Theft Auto V?
DH: Yes, I can exclusively reveal it's going to be set in Los Santos. [laughs]
Us: Well I think we already knew that.
DH:Quite, there really isn't that much to tell at the moment. We don't like to reveal too much at any one time, we like to throw in a couple of surprises when we can. For example, this ?????? is quite removed from GTA IV, there won't be anybody from Liberty City showing up in this game. It's very much it's own game, although we might see some familiar faces.
Us: Interesting, does that mean that we are going to see returning characters?
DH: We already have, but I've probably already said too much about that already.
Us: So who is it that we've already seen?
DH: Actually, can we take that bit out? (laughs) I might get in trouble otherwise.
Us: Maybe. Unless there is anything you can reveal to get away from that.
DH: I don't know (thinks)... there will be downloadable content, and it will be a little more expanded on what we did from Liberty City.
Us: So does that explain the fighter jet we see in the trailer?
DH: No comment (smiles).
Us: So does that mean we're going to see more vehicles in the game?
DH: Possibly. It's still th early days, but we might get XXXXXXXXXXXXXX if the game required it.
Us: Is there anything else we can expect from GTA V?
DH: Well, we have been listening to a little feedback XX XXX XXX getting from a dedicated section of the fXXX and we are strongly looking at he possibility of doing a simultaneous release between the console and PC versions this time around, probably with a downloadable version for the PC, so we might end up releasing it slightly earlier on the PC for that reason.
Us: Is this connected to the recent revamp of the Social Club and introduction of Crews?
DH: Partly, but there are other reasons for doing this as well, but as I say we are only looking XXX it at this stage.
Us: So getting back to the returning characters, are you going to give us a hint?
DH: I may as well now that I've mentioned it, we aren't going to bring anyone back into this new generation of the game, but after popular demand, we decided that we could a character going for life in the series, so I think the right decision to bring back...
