Zitat
Releases: August 6th on Xbox Live
Features:
Six modes Local 4 player co-op only, not online.
New multiplier system, each enemy will drop a +1 Multiplier.
Multiplier does not refresh upon death.
Same controls, and same bombs.
No gun upgrades this time around, same basic gun.
Modes:
Deadline - only one available at start. Rest unlocked by playing well.
King -
Evolved - Retro Evolved's original game.
Waves - PGR4's Waves variant.
Sequence - puts you in a series of 20 arenas where a set pattern of enemies appear. You have 30 seconds to clear the arena. If you die, you automatically jump to the next arena, but you get an "X" in the sequence denoting you are a horrible blight on family and friends. Kill all enemies within 30 seconds and you get a crown on the sequence, letting the world know you are king in that area.
Pacifism - no weapons or bombs at all. The only way to take out enemies is to fly through small gates which spawn at rapid intervals on screen. When these gates explode, they take out any nearby enemies. Gate's orange ends can kill you. You only have a single life.
Multiplayer Modes:
Competitive: Rack up the most points before you die. Sequence mode adds powerups for players to pick up (Shields, bombs, etc.)
Co-pilot mode: One player controls the ship, the other controls the gunner. (you cant play pacifism with this mode)

The multiplayer isn't online simply because of the latency. In GWRE2 there are literally hundreds of things moving at the same time (thus being squished down the internet pipe). Take your typical FPS, which might have 20 objects at most flying around your character at a time (I'm guessing)... contrast that with the hundreds of GWRE enemies alone (in addition to other players, bullets, Geoms, powerups, etc.). Then consider that it's much more vital for a game like GWRE to be pixel-accurate for it's gameplay to work... unfortunately online this just doesn't add up.![]()
