TRC Scooty:
As has been said you can basically use this thread as the end all for physics discussion. NOTHING was compromised and with out a doubt the physics ARE better. The cars don't "float" any more, they're planted and as a wheel user you will feel every bit of weight transfer through FFB. The improvement is stunning to say the least. I actually wish I could have sat down and drove the other tracks/cars ect as if 24 hours wasn't enough .
We obviously spent a great deal of time in the R8 V10, but it wasn't a special case in that it was more reformed b/c it's the hero car. On breaks I was driving the DBS on Ladera and it was the same feeling, planted, great weight trasfer feedback, ect. The cars just feel amazing in my opinion. Turn 10 has stepped it up with out a doubt. Also, when I say planted I don't mean NFS or PGR planted, I mean you can "feel" the tires connection to the ground. These cars are certainly not planted in the sense that the won't get loose, they feel heavier and once you get the momentum going things can go downhill REAL fast!
I completely forgot about the straight, mainly b/c I was in the zone, but that's another thing every one will love. Even on the M$ wheel you could feel the FFB giving subtle input going over bumps, crests, imperfections, ect in the road...and that's just cruising down a straight away at 170mph .
I'm truley STOKED right now. Including my plane rides I have slept just under 3 hours over the past 36+ hours and I still want to do nothing but play Forza 3...I really can't believe how fun this game is.
General E Live:
Now Forza 3, wow what a game, its so much better then I thought. The game is beautiful, everything just looks so much better in every area its a night and day difference. The physics are fantastic, the cars a heavy and you can feel the cars weight play a role in the braking and turning of the cars in all of the turns. The R8 was an absolute blast to drive and the le mans track is by far the best Forza track I have ever driven, by a long shot. I am truly done with forza 2, I really cant see myself playing it after forza 3. As scooty said I just wish I could drive all the cars on all the tracks, I wish I had forza 3 right now because it is incredible. I should say this also, the other 3 tracks in the demo are so much fun and are quite challenging as well. Another big time thing was the penalty time and grass in the game, the grass on the outer edge of the track is now very grippy you get wheels in there and its going to slow you done, much more realistic then forza 2. The penalty time is also much better, no longer can you get 3 quarters of your car inside the curb and get by with no penalty. You get your cars tired inside that curb and you become a bank for penalty time. The racing should be done on the track and unless you want to collect penalty time you gotta keep all wheels on the track. In the end forza 3 is leaps and bounds over forza 2 and will be an instant hit when it is released. I cant wait to see what other tracks, features and cars are in the game as I already know the core structure of the game is what I have always wanted in a racing game.

As far as the physics go, no worries guys, they are incredible. I think Scooty’s explanation was pretty much spot on. I’m on a controller but you still feel all the changes in road texture, weight transfer, tire scrub, bumps down the straight, the dirty parts of the track and such. That is one thing that I noticed around Le Mans in FM3, there are dirty parts of the track that have less grip than the main racing line just like there is in real life, that's gonna be interesting once the game gets to the point where you can have multiple player cars on track, and not just AI.
WildChild906:
As far as FM3 goes, I CAN'T wait till release!! As stated by some of the other drivers earlier the physics are so much better. The feeling of heavier cars is the biggest improvement in my book. It doesn't feel like you're driving on glass anymore. The road texture was another big step up from FM2. You can feel almost every bump & crack while flying 187mph down the back straights of LeMan's. At first, it was challenging just to keep the car in a straight-line. From what damage I saw it looked amazing & more realistic. Just tapping the car in front of you won't cause your bumper to fall off or break your headlights. The car crashes are alot better especially since you can roll & flip vehicles. I got the chance to take the Mercedez Benz SUV at 100mph backwards straight into a oncoming Z06! The results were more than pleasing......sending the SUV into a front-flip landing on its side(glass and body parts exploded all over the track).
Overall, this game looks and feels amazing for all types of drivers and ages. I'm 100% sure that nobody will be dissapointed upon release. FM3 FTW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
