Update Methods



Update using a computer

For the standard update procedure, follow the steps below.

Visit here for the procedure to initialize your PS4™ system and perform a new installation of the system software, such as for when you replace the hard disk drive.This procedure is for initializing your PS4™ system and performing a new installation of the system software, such as for when you replace the hard disk drive. Be careful when using an update file for reinstallation. All users and all data will be deleted.


The following things are needed to perform the update:
PlayStation®4 system
Computer connected to the Internet
USB storage device, such as a USB* flash drive
* There must be 400 MB of free space.

1.On the USB storage device, create folders for saving the update file.
Using a computer, create a folder named "PS4". Inside that folder, create another folder named "UPDATE".

2.Download the update file, and save it in the "UPDATE" folder you created in step 1.
Save the file with the file name "PS4UPDATE.PUP".
Download NowClick to start the download.
3.Turn off the power of your PS4™ system completely.
Check that the power indicator is not lit. If the power indicator is lit up in orange, touch the power button on the PS4™ system for at least 7 seconds (until the system beeps a second time).
4.Connect the USB storage device that the update file is saved on to your PS4™ system, and then touch the power button for at least 7 seconds.
The PS4™ system starts in safe mode
5.Select [Update System Software].
Follow the screens to complete the installation.

If your PS4™ system does not recognize the update file, check that the folder names and file name are correct. Enter the folder names and file name in single-byte characters using uppercase letters.

Um dein PS4-System zu initialisieren und eine Neuinstallation durchzuführen, wie zum Beispiel beim Ersetzen des Festplattenlaufwerks, klick hier und befolge anschließend die Anweisungen.

WICHTIGER HINWEIS: Besondere Vorsicht ist geboten, wenn bei der Neuinstallation eine Aktualisierungsdatei verwendet wird. Es werden alle Benutzer und alle Daten gelöscht.

Befolge bei einer standardmäßigen Aktualisierung die folgenden Schritte.

Für die Durchführung der Aktualisierung ist Folgendes erforderlich:
PS4-System
Computer mit Internetverbindung
USB-Datenträger (z. B. ein USB-Stick)

*Es müssen ca. 300 MB freier Speicherplatz verfügbar sein.

1) Erstell auf dem USB-Datenträger Ordner zum Speichern der Aktualisierungsdatei.
Erstell einen Ordner namens "PS4", wenn du einen Computer verwendest. Erstell in diesem Ordner einen weiteren Ordner mit dem Namen "UPDATE".



2) Lade die Aktualisierungsdatei herunter und speichere sie in dem von dir im ersten Schritt erstellten Ordner "UPDATE".
Speichere die Datei unter dem Namen "PS4UPDATE.PUP".

3) Schalte das PS4-System aus. Vergewissere dich, dass die Power-Kontrollleuchte nicht leuchtet. Wenn die Power-Kontrollleuchte orange leuchtet, drück mindestens sieben Sekunden lang die Power-Taste des PS4-Systems (bis das System zum zweiten Mal einen Piepton erzeugt).

4) Verbinde den USB-Datenträger, auf dem die Aktualisierungsdatei gespeichert ist, mit deinem PS4-System und drück anschließend mindestens sieben Sekunden lang die Power-Taste. Das PS4-System wird im abgesicherten Modus gestartet.

5) Wähl [Systemsoftware aktualisieren] aus. Befolge zum Abschließen der Installation die Anweisungen auf dem Bildschirm.

Wenn dein PS4-System die Aktualisierungsdatei nicht erkennt, vergewissere dich, dass die Ordnernamen und der Dateiname korrekt sind. Gib die Ordnernamen und den Dateinamen mit Einzelbyte-Zeichen in Großbuchstaben ein.
