"Yes, it’s real. We had some fun for April Fools, but we have indeed developed an all-new direct-drive wheel base for €349.95. Bringing this advanced technology to the CSL Series took a little more effort than cutting a Podium base in half, that’s for sure.

This is nothing other than a complete game changer. There is little doubt that Direct Drive wheels are far superior to any belt or gear-driven wheels out there. We wanted to make this new technology available for the mass market without taking any shortcuts in quality or performance.

With the standard power supply, peak torque is 5 Nm, this is almost the level of a CSL Elite Wheel Base. But there is also the Boost Kit 180, an optional larger power supply unlocking the full 8 Nm.

The CSL DD uses an improved, automotive-grade, all-aluminium quick release. This component is user-exchangeable, ready for the transition to the all-new QR2 system (coming soon). And of course we are working on more DDs, including PS5 licensed DDs, as well.

DD is the way to go in all our product lines.

PC: This wheel base is compatible with PC when combined with a Fanatec Steering Wheel. Check the individual Steering Wheel product pages for Wheel Base compatibility.
Xbox®: This wheel base becomes compatible with Xbox One® and Xbox Series X|S when used with any Fanatec Xbox-licensed steering wheel.
PlayStation®: This product is not compatible with any PlayStation® console and cannot be upgraded to achieve compatibility.

Wurde auch Zeit das die alte Technik abgelöst wird. CSL DD ersetzt das CSL Elite, zum gleichen Preis.

Überrascht mich doch sehr von Fanatec da die Preisgestaltung der letzten Jahre eher 500€ aufwärst haben erwarten lassen...

Das CSL DD hat entweder 5 oder 8 NM... Die CSL Elite hat auch nur "bis zu 6Nm" und das Clubsport V2.5 hat laut Fanatec "8NM"...

Für die weiterhin 350€ ist die CSL DD der perfekte Ersatz für die CSL Elite vom Preis her und bietet Leistung bis auf CSW 2.5 Level + die ganzen DD Vorteile.

Also besser gehts nicht finde ich.

Problem ist das das Wheel nur ausverkauft sein wird. Fanatec war auch ohne Corona nur für Lieferengpässe bekannt, konnten Nachfrage nicht bedienen.
